Carolyn (Sue) Jordan
Genealogist - Foote Family Association of America.
Carolyn (Sue) Jordan Cararolyn "Sue" Jordan was elected Genealogist for the Foote Family Association of America (FFAA) at the 1998 reunion in Vermont. Sue joined the FFAA at the time of its reorganization in 1984. She is also a member of the Town of Ontario Landmark & Preservation Society and the Walter Palmer Society.

While growing up, Sue's family fostered her interest in genealogy, and while studying to be a curator, a professional genealogist provided her with training. She received her BA with a double major in Art and American History.

Sue is the former Curator/School Coordinator with the Wayne County (NY) Historical Society, and was the Assistant Curator for the Erie Canal Village in Rome, NY.

Sue is particularly interested in Living History, serving as a member of the Brigade of the American Revolution and The Fort Stanwix (Rome, NY) Garrison as well as engaging in other historical portrayals at various times. Sue says her "next love is historical costumes". Anything involving research is of great interest, and she has researched, designed, and made several costumes.

She has been a spinning and weaving instructor, and knows many of the early crafts. In addition, Sue has been on an archeological dig with the Rochester Museum, greatly enjoying the "digging".

Recently, Sue has turned her focus back on her art, painting medieval folk art. She has also turned her attention to the early 1600s when her Foote, Palmer and Huxley ancestors arrived. Currently,

Sue is an insurance agent with an independent insurance agency. Her husband Robert (Bob) Charles Jordan retired from Mobil Chemical after 38 years, and currently works in the circulation department of a local weekly newspaper and advertising paper.

Sue has two children: Margaret (23) graduated from SUNY-Brockport in 2001 and works with a children's home; and Jeremy (21) who is a junior at Rensellear Poly-Tech. Bob has two sons: Randy who lives in Bristol, CT with his four children; and Mark who lives in Meriden, CT with three children.

Sue and Bob enjoy football and racing as well as travel to historical places.

Sue has been researching her lineage for many years. Currently she has not been able to locate many descendants of this line - particularly the line from Heli on down and there have been precious few of Ichabod's line. She welcomes any information other's have that follows these lines and will be glad to exchange what information she has on her line.
